Caring for Gel Nails Between Appointments
Practical habits that keep a gel finish looking fresh for weeks.
A gel manicure holds up well, but it still needs a little care to reach its full life. The good news is that all of it is simple.
Wear gloves for washing dishes and cleaning. Household detergents dull the top coat faster than anything else. Keep a small cuticle oil in your bag and use it once a day so the skin around the nail stays soft.
Never peel a lifting edge. Pulling gel off takes layers of the natural nail with it and leaves the surface thin and rough. Book a proper removal instead.
If a nail chips or lifts early, phone us. A single repair is quick and far kinder to the nail than waiting three weeks with a broken edge.
